The causes of sudden onset or increase in asthmatic pregnant women other than seen in normal women include increased incidence of GERD (gastroesophageal reflex disease), decrease in effective lung volume. Management and treatment of asthma in pregnancy is the same as in the general population. It includes both controller and emergency medications. Improper or non-adherence to asthma treatment in pregnant women will result in a number prepartum, peripartum and post-partum complications.
Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) an umbrella term used for a large group of diseases which causes scarring (fibrosis) of lungs resulting in increased stiffness and loss of usual lung elasticity, decrease in oxygenation process and resulting breathlessness, cough leading to poor quality of life. Anyone can get ILD including children. Many things can cause or increase the risk of developing ILD. Lung damage from ILDs is often irreversible and progressive, so treatment normally centers on improving quality of life, slowing the disease's progression and relieving symptoms with Medications, Oxygen therapy, Pulmonary rehabilitation and Symptomatic treatment.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, commonly referred to as COPD, is a group of progressive lung diseases. The most common are emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Many people with COPD have both of these conditions. Emphysema slowly destroys air sacs in your lungs, which interferes with outward air flow.
