Understanding the Stages of Brain Tumors: Symptoms, Diagnosis, and Treatment
Listen to
Brain tumours are abnormal cell growths in the brain, which can be benign or malignant (cancerous). They can originate in the brain (primary tumours) or spread from other parts of the body (secondary or metastatic tumours). Symptoms vary but may include headaches, seizures, vision changes, memory loss, and difficulty with balance. Diagnosis involves imaging tests like MRI or CT scans.
Some treatment modalities include chemotherapy, radiation treatment, surgery, and targeted therapy. Although the prognosis is dependent on the kind, location, and stage of the cancer, early diagnosis improves results. There is hope for improved management and survival thanks to developments in neurosurgery and customised therapies.
