New Saridon Tablet composition - Each strip of uncoated tablet of 10'S (10 tablets per strip) contains 500 mg of Acetaminophen and 50 mg of Caffeine. 

Overview

  • New saridon tablet is a combination drug containing paracetamol (acetaminophen) and caffeine. This tablet effectively treats mild to moderate pain, including headache, backache, migraine, muscle pain, rheumatic pain, toothache and menstrual pain. 
  • New saridon tablet also relieves discomfort in colds, influenza, and sore throat and helps reduce the body temperature. Paracetamol medication in New saridon inhibits the release of pain inducing enzymes and alleviates pain. Whereas caffeine belonging to the methylxanthine class increases the efficacy of paracetamol by improving its absorption, thereby prolonging the analgesic action.

New Saridon Tablet Uses 

  • New saridon drug belongs to the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) that reduce the body temperature and inflammation by blocking the chemical messengers that cause inflammation. 
  • New saridon tablets is used to treat headaches, backaches, toothaches, arthritis, ear discomfort, joint and muscular pain, and menstrual pain. 
  • Paracetamol is an antipyretic and analgesic drug also used to reduce fever symptoms.

Guidelines to follow while taking the New Saridon Tablet

  • New saridon should be taken orally. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water, as directed by the physician.
  • Do not chew or crush it. 
  • In New saridon therapy, the physician will determine the appropriate dosage and frequency based on the patient’s age, weight, and illness.
  • Unless advised by a physician, take one standard dose of tablets per day.

New Saridon Mechanism of Action

  • New saridon tablet helps with pain. Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system by inhibiting adenosine receptors and increasing alertness.
  • Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic that increase pain threshold by inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2 enzyme. It also acts on the brain's heat-regulating centre, causing peripheral vasodilation, sweating, and loss of body heat. 

New Saridon Tablet Side Effects

Side effects may or may not occur with New Saridon. It is often well tolerated when taken in the recommended dosage. Uncommonly, the patient may experience one or more of the following symptoms at times that are very mild. Common side effects include:

  • Skin rash
  • Urticaria
  • Rare side effects may include:
  • Thrombocytopenia
  • Leukopenia
  • Agranulocytosis
  • Pancytopenia
  • Severe allergic reactions or anaphylactic reactions such as redness, itching, urticaria, angioedema, dyspnoea or asthma. Skin reddening, rash, blisters, or peeling

New Saridon Tablet Dosage

New saridon is available as tablet dosage form. The dosage varies based on the clinical conditions and the patient's age, body weight etc.

  • New saridon dosage for adults: New saridon is usually recommended as 1-2 tablets per dose in adults. It is possible to take up to three single doses in a 24-hour period, but not more than six tablets should be taken daily.
  • New saridon pediatric dose: The usage of New saridon tablet in children and adolescents (those under the age of 12) is not generally advised. It is recommended to consult paediatrician before taking New saridon in children. 
  • New saridon dose for geriatrics: New saridon should be used with caution in elderly patients of above 65 years of age under medical supervision. 

Effects of New Saridon in Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

  • New saridon in pregnancy: New saridon tablets are usually not recommended in pregnant women. It is recommended to consult physician before taking New saridon.
  • New saridon for breastfeeding: New saridon tablet is not recommended in breastfeeding women, as it may pass through the breast milk. Consult the physician before use.

  • Phenobarbital (Fits)
  • Rifampicin (tuberculosis)
  • Propantheline and cimetidine (ulcers)
  • Metoclopramide (nausea and vomiting)
  • Chloramphenicol (bacterial infections)
  • Zidovudine (HIV infection)
  • Butabarbital (insomnia)
  • Azelastine (allergies)
  • Lorazepam (panic disorders, anxiety, and fits)
  • Oral contraceptives (avoid pregnancy)
  • Disulfiram (alcohol withdrawal)
  • Theophylline (asthma)
  • Ephedrine (hypotension)


New Saridon Tablet Food interactions

  • It is recommended to avoid alcohol, tea, coffee and caffeine-containing canned drinks.


New Saridon Tablet Disease interactions

A person is contraindicated from taking New saridon drug, if the patient is suffering with any of the below disease conditions: 

  • Deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase or haemolytic anaemia
  • Acute hepatic porphyria
  • Liver disease - New saridon tablet should be used with caution in patients with impaired liver function, like hepatitis or Gilbert’s syndrome. It is recommended to consult a physician before taking New saridon.
  • Kidney disease - New saridon tablet should be used with caution in patients with impaired kidney function. Consult physician before using New saridon.
  • Lung disease - New saridon tablet should be used with caution in patients with asthma and chronic rhinitis. Consult physician before taking New saridon.


Before taking the New saridon, inform the physician if the patient has any illnesses such as Chronic urticaria or Bone marrow dysfunction.
