Kidney Stones Awareness: Common Questions Answered by a Urologist

PACE Hospitals

Listen to

When substances in the urine become extremely concentrated, hard mineral deposits known as kidney stones develop inside the kidneys. While some stones are tiny enough to pass naturally, others can block the urinary tract and result in heavy pain, blood in the urine, nausea, vomiting, or difficulty passing urine. People of all ages are susceptible to kidney stones, which can recur if the underlying causes are not addressed.

In this episode of the Kidney Stones Podcast, we discuss how kidney stones develop, the common risk factors that increase the chances of stone formation, and the warning signs that should never be ignored. We also explain the different types of kidney stones, the diagnostic tests used to identify them, and why early evaluation is important to prevent complications like urinary infections or kidney damage.

Join the PACE Hospitals podcast with Dr Abhik Debnath, Consultant Urologist at PACE Hospitals, Hitech City, as he explains kidney stone prevention, diagnosis, and treatment options, including lifestyle changes, medications, and advanced stone-removal procedures, to support a safe recovery.
