Pancreatic Cancer Explained: Stages, Warning Signs, Diagnosis, Treatment & General FAQs

Listen to

When aberrant cells in the pancreas grow out of control, they can develop into pancreatic cancer, which frequently doesn't show symptoms until it is well along. Due to the ambiguity of early symptoms like weight loss, jaundice, moderate abdominal discomfort, and loss of appetite, many patients receive a late diagnosis. Smoking, obesity, diabetes, chronic pancreatitis, and a family history of pancreatic diseases all increase the risk.

A biopsy and imaging tests are usually used for diagnosis. Depending on the stage and general health, treatment options may include radiation, chemotherapy, surgery, or targeted therapies. Improving results requires early detection, lifestyle changes, and routine health examinations.

Join the PACE Hospitals Podcast with Dr Suresh Kumar S, Surgical Gastroenterologist and Laparoscopic Surgeon at PACE Hospitals, Hitech City, Hyderabad, India. We dive into pancreatic cancer, its early warning signs, risk factors, diagnosis, and the latest treatment options.
