Breast cancer is one of the most common and dreadful cancers in the females even today. Mastectomy, a surgical procedure to remove one or both breasts, is a widely used treatment for breast cancer. It is often recommended when cancer is large, invasive, or if there's a high risk of recurrence. During the procedure, affected breast tissue is removed, sometimes including nearby lymph nodes to prevent the spread. While side effects may include discomfort, numbness, or limited arm mobility, advancements in surgical techniques have minimized these risks. A mastectomy can significantly reduce the chance of cancer returning, providing patients with peace of mind and a better chance of long-term recovery.
