Community-Acquired Pneumonia – Symptoms, Risk Factors, Diagnosis & Treatment

Listen to

Community-acquired pneumonia is a common lung illness that starts at home, at work, or at school. It occurs when germs enter the lungs and trigger inflammation of the air sacs, leading to fever, coughing, chest discomfort, fatigue, and shortness of breath. In some people, especially older adults or those with other health problems, the illness can become serious if not treated on time. Because the early symptoms may resemble those of a cold or flu, many people do not realise how quickly it can worsen.

Join the PACE Hospitals Podcast with Dr Pradeep Kiran Panchadi, Consultant Interventional Pulmonologist and specialist in Bronchoscopy and EBUS at PACE Hospitals, Hitech City, Hyderabad, shares valuable information on recognising symptoms, causes, and knowing when to seek medical care. He also covers how doctors diagnose the condition and the treatment options available to help patients recover safely and protect their lung health.
